Job description

The Food Safety Coordinator plays a key role with Sea View Packing and Oasis Ranch Management and reports directly to the General Manager. The Coordinator is responsible for promoting the Companies Food Safety program by educating field staff, customers and other employees. Serve as a food safety resource for all growers associated with the company and share best practices unilaterally.


  • Continue to develop and insure adherence to policies and programs on food safety/defense guidance and education.

  • Perform in-house and 3rd party audits and inspections; conduct detailed and documented risk assessments.

  • Develop facility/field standard operating procedures according to food safety and food defense standards.

  • Lead in audit prep for packing and field operations.

  • Lead in audits for both packing and field operations.

  • Review all audit results for accuracy.

  • Assess the existing grower’s current food safety program, including sanitation, harvest, and cultural practices. Identify areas of improvement and practical means to achieve them. Completed Food Safety Internal audit checklist for every growing site.

  • Maintain food safety records.

  • Monitor and report corrective action and compliance status.

  • Fulfill customer requests for information.

  • Participate in Internal Audit/Inspection program as part of all companies Food Safety Manual Policy.

  • Review chemical inventory and update respective MSDS files.

  • Address customer / consumer inquiries and manage food safety related complaints.

  • Support, as required, related programs including traceability and recall.



  • An experienced individual with knowledge in food safety, and quality assurance in a manufacturing / farming environment is highly desired.

  • Requires continuing education in management, operations and personal development.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent judgment and strong operational focus. Strong interpersonal skills; must exercise a high degree of initiative, discipline, judgment, discretion and decision-making.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships within all levels of the organization, customers, vendors and guests.

  • Proficient software skills are required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, (i.e., Excel and Word) is required.
