Position: Program Administrator, Quality Assurance (non-exempt)
Department: Food Safety
Reports to: QAFS Project Manager
Location: San Juan Bautista, CA
Temporary position: 6-month assignment
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Program Administrator, Quality Assurance will provide technical support for the development of program documentation needs for Good Manufacturing Practices, Traceability, management of preventive controls within the Food Safety Plan and quality assurance food safety data analytics as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development and publication of
Modernized GMP standard, audit tools, and training materials
Standard Operating Procedures as assigned
Record-keeping documents and program analysis recommendations
Review of existing Standard Operating Procedures related to the Food Safety Plan and general Quality Control requirements and recommend amendments
Evaluate the performance of the food safety preventive and quality controls to recommend performance criteria/measures, frequency of review and reports
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Agriculture/Horticulture, Biology or related field.
Experience in quality assurance, food safety or food product development.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Very High Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of ESHA-Genesis for nutritional label.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Candidate must be highly organized and detail oriented.
- Candidate must be team oriented and also able to work independently. Self-starter.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Bilingual. Able to speak, read and write in Spanish.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), web-based applications.
