General Description:

Tanimura & Antle is seeking a highly technically inclined individual to join its Finance Department team. This position is responsible to work directly with the Finance and IT department to ensure that the company can rely on the systems and information for accuracy and completeness. In addition to monitoring the systems this position is an integral part of a new financial system upgrade. Additionally this position maintains or assists staff with edits, spreadsheets and system reports, and troubleshoots system problems between operations and IT. Trains staff on the use of financial systems and acts as a liaison to the information technology department. Individual contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project and is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Primary Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  •  Reviews daily integrity reports. Investigates and resolves variances.
  •  Researches and fixes out of balance errors
  •  Posts batches as necessary
  •  Reviews daily sales update reports
  •  Imports files to and exports files from financial databases
  •  Gains knowledge on department software and tools and provides training and documentation, as needed
  •  Works with CFO and IT on business intelligence software and provides analytical support in report creation
  •  Serves as technical backup support to controllers to help reconcile and resolve received not vouchered variances
  •  Supervises processes of digitized information and ensures that scanned information is complete
  •  Assists CFO and Corporate Controller with other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

 Bachelor’s degree

 Degree and/or technical knowledge in accounting and Information Technology required

 4 to 7 years of related experience

Computer Skills:

 Must have advanced Excel experience, advanced query and report writer experience

 Working knowledge of databases and SQL

 Experience with ERP systems, knowledge of JD Edwards and E1 software is a plus

Language Skills:

 Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

 Must be able to write simple correspondence.

 Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to managers, and other employees of the operation.

Reasoning Ability:

 Must be able to apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions that are furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

 Must be able to deal with problems, involving several concrete variables, in standardized situations.

Mathematical Skills:

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Other Qualifications:

 Must be detail oriented, a self-starter and have an excellent work ethic
