If this sounds like a company you could thrive in, we have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Director at our corporate headquarters, located just outside of Eugene, Oregon.
The Commercial Director is responsible for Fall Creek’s commercial strategy and execution in the markets we serve world-wide. This includes:
•planning, growth and fulfillment of the plant sales business, customer service and technical support,
•alignment of licensing platforms with direct and downstream markets,
•oversight of the comprehensive marketing function.
This dynamic position has shared leadership for the company’s overall performance as a member of our executive management team. The Commercial Director collaborates with other executives as part of Fall Creek’s matrix structure and represents the company to customers, licensees, and guests.
•Primary responsibility for growing and executing Fall Creek’s global market strategy in every geography we serve in a manner aligned with mission. This includes both the alignment of commercialization and licensing platforms to the markets, as well as the plant sales and fulfillment to serve the individual customers. This position executes this strategy within Fall Creek’s matrix system as the central functional person responsible for licensing and sales and closely collaborates with Regional Directors to ensure in-country execution, reporting, and analysis.
•Leads design and roll out of the structure of Fall Creek’s commercial department to position for the future of the business.
•Ensures comprehensive relationship account management for Fall Creek’s top global and regional customers, and develops consistent approaches within the organization for serving all customer relationships at each touch point during the customer experience.
•Responsible for company-wide marketing and brand strategy and implementation. Includes brand messaging and product positioning on a global and regional basis, ensuring the stewardship of corporate brand needs, and serving department counterparts for internal marketing and culture-building.
•Responsible for working with Regional Directors for the compilation of short and long-term sales forecasts across all regions, as well as operating the department budget. Collaborates with global plant production and inventory in regards to forecasting to ensure product availability for existing and new products.
•Responsible for the global design, training, and implementation of Fall Creek’s Product and Grower Support technical team and the manner in which they serve customers.
This position is well-suited for experienced executives from the produce industry who have a passion for relationship-based sales in our growing business.
The Commercial Director will have sales and marketing management experience with intimate knowledge of the produce value chain in an international setting. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of plant intellectual property licensing along with sophisticated knowledge of marketing strategies and brand positioning in an international organization.
•Experience with market and sales analysis, pricing, and program management.
•Experience with sales in international operations, where collaboration with counterpart directors is a critical success factor to meeting personal and company goals.
•Bilingual in English and Spanish.
•Understanding and agility in foreign cultures and high level of comfort with international travel. Willingness to travel internationally as well as domestically for up to 10 days per trip.
•Demonstrated experience with planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
•Requires good judgment and the ability to positively influence team decision making and operations.
•Must have a commitment to quality. Must be results driven and customer focused.
•Effective oral and written communication skills at all levels of the organization. Must have the ability to effectively present information in formal and informal settings to peers, customers and industry leaders.
•Must demonstrate professional and ethical business practices, adherence to company values, and a commitment to personal and professional development.
