To develop and manage product quality and food safety programs for a variety of minimally processed vegetables.
Must have a 4-year degree in Biology, Food Science, or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ of experience working with minimally processed vegetables including leafy greens. Must have experience creating, updating, and implementing food safety programs. Knowledge of HACCP, the Food Safety Modernization Act, and GFSI-compliant auditing is required. Preventive Controls Qualified Individual preferred. Must be able to maintain confidentiality about all aspects of job at all times. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record. Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This position will be responsible for ensuring that food safety programs are being followed and are compliant with all relevant auditing requirements. Responsible for reviewing and maintaining HACCP plans, SSOP’s, GMP’s and other pre-requisite programs as necessary. Conduct regular Food Safety and HACCP training for all personnel. Supervise quality assurance/control personnel. Manage food safety and quality programs for multiple minimally processed vegetable product lines. Ensure that facilities are prepared for both scheduled and unannounced food safety inspections (3rd party, regulatory, customers). Assess and resolve non-conformances with regulatory guidelines or customer requirements. Protect security and confidentiality of company information at all times. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Conduct studies as requested by VP of QA.
Work in wet and damp environment. Exposed to outdoor given climate. Continuous use of both hands; including grasping, pulling and pushing. Sight, hearing, lifting, standing, climbing stairways, walking and balancing both feet on even and uneven surfaces, bending, twisting, crawling, stooping, kneeling, reaching forward, reaching overhead, reaching below shoulder, wrist turning, neck turning.
